Pialla project

For this project we thought of a woodworking tool.

STRUCTURE

The planes are made from the union of wood and metal, and other materials. It is often the combination of a Bronze sole, with a hardwood core. The wooden plane is structured like this:

  1. Body, usually in parallelepiped shape. It has a slit.

  2. Handle, fixed to the log just behind the blade. Over time it has been improved to be more ergonomic;

  3. Hole or jaw, which starts from the slot and crosses the stump, widening.

  4. Blade or iron, sharp, is the cutting part of the tool that creates the chip;

  5. Counter iron, serves to block the blade on the seat;

  6. Wedge or wedge or gib, locks the iron in position in the slot;
